Springfield College, School of Human Services invites applications for the position of Assistant Director for Recruitment and Admissions for our Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Campus.
The School is a growing, multi-campus program with established campuses in New England, the mid-Atlantic region, California, Florida, Wisconsin, and Texas. Our mission is to provide broadly accessible higher education in the human services field to adult learners, supported by the principles of community partnership and academic excellence to achieve social and economic justice. Courses are offered on weekends to students seeking either BS or MS degrees in Human Services. The interdisciplinary curriculum focuses on the development of social analysis, critical thinking, communication skills, and leadership skills.
We are seeking a high-energy, dynamic and detailed-oriented individual to manage all aspects of recruitment and admissions of undergraduate and graduate adult students. Responsibilities include; student recruitment, retention, and strategies associated to relationship building with area human services agencies and community colleges. The selected candidate will develop and implement a multi-year recruitment/marketing plan consistent with the institution’s mission. Responsibilities will also include all functions of admissions, open houses/information sessions, event planning, public speaking/presentations, and coordination of new student orientations.
The successful candidate has the following: a passionate response to the mission of the School; an earned bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years experience in the field of human services and/or higher education; or the equivalent in combined education and experience (master’s degree preferred). Excellent customer service skills and the ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment are skills essential to this position. In addition, candidates must have the ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. Candidates must have experience in recruitment and admissions, making public presentations, excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work a variety of hours, including evenings and weekends, valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation are required. Also required is a strong computer background, with proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint. A positive attitude and the ability to work independently are necessary, as well as the ability to deal with pressure in meeting projected enrollment goals.
