Assistant Director for Academic Services
The Assistant Director for Academic Services has primary responsibility for ensuring that the academic and support needs of students are met. Principle duties focus on all aspects of financial aid, experiential learning process, student retention, academic support, and academic advising, providing support and leadership for student development. Successful applicants are dynamic, multi-talented, detail-oriented individuals, who respond to the mission with passion; enjoy and are skilled in working with adult learners and who appreciate the importance and complexity of working with diverse populations.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in related areas of higher education, student personnel, human services, and counseling; and a minimum of three years directly related experience; or the equivalent in combined education and experience; excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated understanding of the needs of adult learners; ability to work independently and to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities; ability to handle sensitive, confidential information in a mature, professional manner; eager to be part of a collaborative work group and program focused on social change. Weekend work and travel required. The position reports to the Assistant Dean/Campus Director of the Springfield Campus of the School of Human Services.
