Renew Materials Online

Renewing an item lets you keep it for another borrowing period.

If the item(s) is not overdue, sign into your account with your 9-digit I.D. number and renew the items there.

If the item(s) is overdue, and not billed, you can also renew with:
    • Ask the Library:
Just submit your name, I.D. number, and the item you'd like to renew.
    • Phone:
      (413)748-3315 or toll-free 1-800-730-5279
    • In person:
      Stop by the Information Desk.

Why can't I renew an item?

    • Item From Another Library:
Items borrowed from other libraries can only be renewed by obtaining special permission from the lending library. Please contact the Interlibrary Loan Department (413-748-3559) for assistance.

Overdue items are automatically blocked from being renewed online. Please Ask the Library about extending the borrowing period.
    • Item on Hold:
If someone else places a hold on a checked-out item, it cannot be renewed. Please return it to the Library as soon as possible.
    • Reserve Item:
Reserve items cannot be renewed. Please return them to the Library as soon as possible.

All RefWorks Accounts to be Deactivated June 30, 2013

As of June 30, 2013, Babson Library will be ending its relationship with RefWorks. All Springfield College accounts will be deactivated at this time, and users will not be able to store or retrieve any further references using RefWorks.

Babson Library is recommending Mendeley and Zotero, two robust, free bibliographic management tools which have essentially the same functions as RefWorks.

To learn how to use Mendeley or Zotero and how to export any references you may have in RefWorks, see our Citation Management Tools guide at http://spfldcol.libguides.com/bibtools.

If you have questions, contact Susan Bigelow, Reference Librarian, at sbigelow@springfieldcollege.edu or (413) 748-3848.
