Faculty can make use of all the services offered to students plus we have a special section on our website, Especially for Faculty, which includes information on Information Literacy, faculty borrowing privileges, recommending items for the Library to purchase and more.
Information Literacy deals with the ability to identify, retrieve, evaluate, and use information that is appropriate to a need. Our Information Literacy Toolbox brings together information literacy standards, assessment information, selected classroom assignments, and other useful resources.
Besides these we can offer you other types of assistance in bringing information literacy skills to your students. We can:
- Teach instruction sessions to your students focusing on either general library/information research skills or on special topics. (How to request classes.)
- Work with you to help you develop/revise assignments that help and/or encourage your students to look for the right type of information while covering the content area you want them to cover.
- Help you bring out information literacy components which already exist within your class so they can be readily identified.
- Visit department/campus meetings via video conference to answer questions about the Library and explain our resources and services.
- Offer workshops for faculty or students for a more in-depth look at an individual resource or technique.
