Julius Kuhnert Scrapbook

Julius Kuhnert class photo Julius Kuhnert, Springfield College Class of 1916 aka Jule, was originally from Rochester, NY, graduating from Rochester High School in 1910. He received his Bachelor of Science from Springfield College in 1916. He was very involved in the Springfield community while he was here. He was a member the basketball team, was on the track team for four years and eventually became captain of the team, part of the Springfield soccer squad, and captain of the cross country team. In addition, he was on the social committee, a student assistant for the physical director, a member of the American Physical Education Association, an assistant in the physiology laboratory for two years, a Springfield College professor for two years at the evening school, and a part of the Association of Leaders’ Corps for five years. Julius was also involved with many activities outside of the college community, being an assistant physical director for the boys’ Sunday School Camp and a leader at the camp, the Director of the grammar school boys’ club, a playground director for four years, and the Physical Director of the Springfield Fire Department.

His scrapbook contains materials from his time at Springfield College, 1913-1916. Materials include photos, his 50th Reunion book of the Class of 1916, newspaper articles, and various concert, dinner, and dance programs.Class of 1916 - 4 track players Track Finish
