Alumni & Guests - Lost/Billed Items

Alumni and guests will be billed for the replacement cost of each item that they fail to return within 1 full loan period past the due date issued at the time of checkout. The Voyager online circulation system regards these items as Lost. If items are not returned to Babson Library, alumni and guests will be billed for replacement charges.
Billing for Replacement Charges
Replacement charges will reflect the actual cost incurred for replacing the Lost item(s) whenever possible, such as with recently published book titles and videos/DVDs. For the remaining Lost items, default charges will be used at the time of billing.

Borrowing privileges will be suspended for any alumni or guests with outstanding replacement charges.
Alumni with outstanding replacement charges will be billed through the Springfield College Business Office. Checks for replacement charges should be made payable and sent to:  Springfield College Business Office.
Guests with outstanding replacements charges will be billed directly from Babson Library. Checks for replacements charges should be made payable and sent to:  Babson Library.
Credit for Replacement Charges
Credit for replacement charges on billed Babson Library items will be given for a period of 90 days after billing.
Borrowing privileges will resume with the undamaged return of the billed item(s) or payment of the replacement charges. Alumni may also submit proof of payment from the Springfield College Business Office.
