Alternative Approaches in Health and Rehabilitation

co-sponsored by the office of alumni relations and the school of health sciences and rehabilitation studies

This symposium will present an overview of the relationship between complementary and alternative therapies and traditional medicine in practice, education, and research. Breakout sessions will introduce specific interventions and approaches in complementary care, and a panel discussion will review issues in health-care policy and reimbursement. The intended audiences are OTs, PTs, and rehabilitation counselors; therapists and professionals treating physical or mental health disabilities; and other licensed health-care providers such as physician assistants and physicians. The course may also be of interest to the general public wishing to be better informed about these issues.
