Springfield College and Beijing Sport University Host Joint Forum on Higher Education

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Springfield College and Beijing Sport University (BSU) collaborated to host a forum on higher education on Monday, Dec. 3, in the Cleveland E. and Phyllis B. Dodge Room of the Richard B. Flynn Campus Union.
Springfield College President Richard B. Flynn and Beijing Sport University President Yang Hua opened the forum that included a joint sharing of information on different aspects of higher education in both the United States and China.
Springfield College welcomed five BSU delegation members who participated in the forum including: Yang; BSU Director of Academic Affairs Gao Feng; BSU Director of Organization Department Xu Xing; BSU Dean of Graduate School Li Mingqin; and BSU Deputy Director of Foreign Affairs Dong Mei.
Springfield College has a long-standing relationship with Beijing Sport University, previously known as Beijing Institute of Physical Education. The two institutions signed their first formal agreement in 1981 and exchange visitors from China have visited Springfield College numerous times throughout the 31 year partnership. Flynn also has made multiple international trips to visit the BSU campus.
