Springfield College Gathering Items for Hurricane Sandy VictimsPosted November 9, 2012
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Springfield College students, faculty and staff continue to gather items to help Hurricane Sandy victims as part of an on-campus program organized by the Springfield College Office of Student Activities. The College delivered needed items to affected areas on Friday, Nov. 9. In addition to collecting supplies, some faculty members, staff members, and students are volunteering their time working with clean-up crews in the hardest hit areas.
A variety of items have been collected such as: non-perishable foods, juice, water, clothing, gloves, hats, scarves, bedding, sheets, towels, toiletries and soaps. The supplies collected will be distributed to Staten Island, Rockaway, Breezy Point, Queens, and portions of the Jersey Shore.
Springfield College students, faculty and staff will be encouraged daily to donate items with future deliveries expected throughout November.
