Springfield College to Host Information Session for MBA Program

June 5, 2012

MBA Info Session

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Springfield College will host an information session for those interested in pursuing a master of business administration (MBA) degree on Wednesday, June 27 at 5:30 p.m. in the Richard B. Flynn Campus Union on the College’s main campus.

Prospective students will be able to meet with Springfield College professors and students and a representative of the Admissions Office. Information about the academic program, career options, admissions process and financial aid opportunities available through the Springfield College MBA program will be provided.

Students may complete the Springfield College MBA in one year. The 10-course, 30-credit program includes concentrations of study in management and nonprofit management. Accommodating for busy schedules, Springfield College offers daytime, late afternoon and evening MBA classes.

“The MBA is often a requirement for corporate managers, and is increasingly essential in nonprofit administration, said Kathryn Carlson Heler, Ph.D., director of the MBA program. “Funders demand that organizations be run with the same effectiveness and efficiency as businesses. Also, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics forecasts acute competition for nonprofit executive-level jobs through 2016, which gives job applicants with an MBA an advantage. In Hampden County alone, there are more than 5,000 nonprofit organizations.”
