TAMPA, Fla., August 19, 2011 -- The Springfield College School of Human Services Tampa Bay Campus has relocated to 10117 Princess Palm Avenue in Tampa, Fla. The Tampa Bay Campus is now located in the Atrium building of Tampa’s Sabal Park with easy access to Interstates 4 and 75. The occupancy, which began on July 1, doubles the capacity of the Tampa Bay Campus.
Steadily growing enrollment and demand for Springfield College School of Human Services (SHS) academic programs in the Tampa Bay area led to the move. SHS offers bachelor’s and master’s degree programs to 1,900 adult learners at 11 campuses in nine states. The Tampa Bay Campus accounts for 400 of these students. According to Dean of the School of Human Services Robert Willey, Ph.D., “Springfield College’s move to this professional location reflects our long-term commitment to providing the Tampa Bay region with highly trained human services professionals.”
Richard Dávila, Ph.D., campus director of the Tampa Bay Campus, said, “We are pleased to be able to welcome more students to this ideal location. This beautiful building was redesigned specifically for SHS Tampa Bay, and because it is easily accessible to major highways, it will allow us to accommodate students from longer driving distances.”
SHS Tampa Bay, which provides weekend programs in human services to accommodate the schedule of working adults, offers bachelor’s degree concentrations in addiction studies, early childhood education, criminal justice, and youth development; and master’s degree concentrations in mental health counseling, community counseling psychology, and organizational management and leadership.
