Brendan Neal will Join Higher Colleges of Technology in Abu Dhabi
May 25, 2010SPRINGFIELD, Mass., May 24, 2010 – Brendan Neal, director of community relations at Springfield College, has accepted a position with Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT), in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Neal will serve as senior officer-institutional development, planning and managing institutional development and advancement activities with local and international partners, stakeholders and alumni. He will leave Springfield College on June 4, 2010.
Responding to the announcement, Springfield College President Richard B. Flynn said, “Brendan has cultivated valuable relationships between the college and its local community in ways that have enhanced the institution’s reputation and supported its mission of educating students in spirit, mind, and body for leadership in service to others. Both the college and the Greater Springfield community have benefited from the opportunities he has helped develop. On behalf of Springfield College, I wish Brendan great success in his new role. He will be missed.”
Neal, who graduated from Springfield College with a bachelor’s degree in political science in 2002 and a master’s degree in health care management in 2010, has been director of community relations at the college since 2006. In that capacity, he has served as a representative of the college to government officials and community leaders.
Previously, Neal served as associate director of family giving for the college. He has also worked with U.S. Sen. John Kerry’s 2004 presidential campaign and in his Senate office, and served in 2002 as the Second Congressional District Coordinator for the Massachusetts Democratic Party.
