Japanese Students Sample American Life Attend Special On-Campus Programs This Month
September 1, 2009SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Sept. 1, 2009 – Students from Nihon University in Tokyo, Japan will receive an introduction to student life in the United States during a special Springfield College program Aug. 25 to 29.
The group is under the guidance of Masanori Takahashi, who recently spent a year as a visiting scholar at Springfield College with Professor of Psychology Judy L. Van Raalte.
On their agenda is an introduction to the game of lacrosse, practice on the climbing wall in the Wellness Center and on the challenge course at East Campus, and a tour of the Springfield College campus and facilities. They will also take English lessons from Deborah Alm, director of the Springfield College International Center, and experience an American cookout at her home.
Completing the experience will be sightseeing in New York City and at the halls of fame of basketball, volleyball, soccer, baseball and tennis.
