September 12, 2007

Springfield, Mass., Sept. 12, 2007 –  Springfield College will hold its first Rosh Hashanah services Wednesday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m., and Thursday, Sept. 13, at 10 a.m., in Marsh Memorial Chapel.

The College’s Jewish Chaplain Rabbi Mark Golub has procured a Sefer Torah for the services, which are sponsored by Springfield College’s Hillel and United Campus Ministry and Spiritual Life Center.

In announcing the services, David L. C. McMahon, director of the Springfield College United Campus Ministry and Spiritual Life Center said, “We invite all students, faculty and staff to attend, both to support our Jewish family and friends in this joyous time, and also to learn about a religious tradition that forms and informs the spiritual lives of many friends, students and colleagues.”
