SSW Faculty Release Competency-Based Social Work Practice: An Integrated Approach to Decision Making
Francine Vecchiolla, Ph.D., Ann Roy, Ph.D., and Walter Mullin, Ph.D., faculty at the Springfield College School of Social Work, announced the release of their edited book, Competency-Based Social Work Practice: An Integrated Approach to Decision Making. Nine graduates of the master of social work program contributed chapters depicting specialized social work interventions. In the first chapter, the editors define integrative competencies utilized in social work practice. The text captures the decisions social workers make in their daily work. Reflections by social workers are used to illuminate each decision and readers are challenged to think critically by examining these case decisions.
