Springfield College has contracted with e2Campus to provide SC Alert, a state-of-the-art system that sends emergency notifications and important messages from the College to the mobile phone, Blackberry, wireless PDA, pager, Smart or Satellite phones, and e-mail addresses, including “pop ups” to Google, Yahoo, or AOL members, of subscribers. The system is offered to faculty, staff, and students who may “opt in” to be notified via text message in the event of an emergency, security alert, or weather closing.
The system enhances and improves the College’s existing campus communications to effectively send time-sensitive information. SC Alert will be used only for emergency contact purposes and not to distribute advertising or other unsolicited content, or to communicate routine notifications.
Subscribers to SC Alert will pay no fees for the service, other than any regular fees associated with text messaging services by the provider.
