Who's who in ITS
The mission of the Information and Technology Services Department is to develop and maintain efficient, effective information and communication systems that provide appropriate tools and timely services to faculty, staff, and students in support of the greater mission of Springfield College. The following list has been designed as a guide to ITS staff and services.
Steven Bigda, Technical Services Coordinator-SHS Sites, extension 3454.
Steve provides installation, maintenance and repair services for desktop computing, printing and networking at all SHS campuses. Steve is responsible for daily technical software support and assists in training of SHS employees. Steve also serves as backup to the campus Help Desk.
Dan Bowker, Student Helpdesk Coordinator, extension 3777-option 3.
Dan is responsible for Student Helpdesk Support which includes Network Registration and connections issues. He also handles the support of college recommended student desktop/laptop purchases and warranty. As possible he will help with hardware issues not purchased through college recommended program and will help with software issues related to college computing.
Trish Dalessio, Systems Manager, extension 3976.
Trish is responsible for working with staff and faculty to assess needs and support and implement solutions that fit into the existing network and application infrastructure at Springfield College. Her primary support platform is that of the Enterprise Server which includes all aspects of electronic campus communications including email, blogs, portals, IM and more. In this capacity, she develops and implements integrated strategies and programs to enhance productivity and communications.
JoAnn Hayes, HelpDesk Manager, extension 4455
JoAnn is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Help Desk which provides desktop computer support for faculty and staff. She maintains the replacement and upgrade schedule for campus computers. She works closely with other ITS staff in creating standard desktop images for deployment.
Michael Houle, Computer Technician, extension 4455
Mike is responsible for computer set-up and configuration, software installation, and troubleshooting and repair of desktop computers. He provides consultation in response to Help Desk requests.
Allan Johnson, Computer Technician, extension 4455
Allan is responsible for computer set-up and configuration, software installation, and troubleshooting and repair of desktop computers. He provides consultation in response to Help Desk requests.
Daniel Kennedy, Technical Services Coordinator-Communications, extension 4000.
Dan is responsible for the technical systems management of the College’s voice and data communications wiring and infrastructure as well as moves, adds, and changes of telephone and voice mail services on campus and for off campus buildings.
Nathan Larkin, Web Developer, extension 3881.
Nathan is responsible for working with appropriate departments and people to plan and develop the design, content and overall functionality of the Springfield College website. He is also responsible for finding or developing applications solutions to address user requirements as well as coordinating and supporting the application effort where appropriate.
Thomas F. Larkin, Jr., Senior Director of Networking and Academic Client Computing, extension 3458.
Tom’s responsibilities include the planning, implementation and maintenance of the College’s local and wide area network systems. He works closely with faculty to define academic computing needs and has broad responsibility for College-wide desktop computing, as well as web and e-mail applications.
Julie LeDuc, Director of Administrative Training and Operations, extension 3106. Julie manages administrative computing and word processing operations. She schedules and provides training and reference materials for employees requiring access to the College’s administrative computer and software package. She is responsible for operating the AS/400 computer and peripherals, maintains specialized mailing files, provides word processing services, and is responsible for producing high volume print jobs, specialized forms, and reports as generated by the Jenzabar software modules. Julie provides new user ID’s, assists with password retrievals, e-mail and SC Web account logins, and provides administrative programming support.
Michael Mayo, Manager of Network Operations, extension 3993.
Mike maintains all campus computer labs ensuring that computer hardware, software and printers in the labs are fully functional. He works with faculty to define classroom computer requirements, provides operational support of Windows based administrative servers and assists in the creation of standard office desktop software images.
Donald Melody, Manager of ITS Video Conferencing and CATV Systems, extension 3494.
Don maintains the video conferencing facilities on campus and the video conferencing systems for all SHS campuses. He also maintains the campus cable television services, satellite conferencing services and smart classroom technology in Blake Hall and Brennan Center. Don is also responsible for CATV and High Speed Internet Service for off-campus housing.
Peter Roden, Interim Chief Technology Officer, extension 3532.
Peter has overall policy and management responsibility for all College technology. This includes networking and telecommunications systems and infrastructures, academic and administrative computing operations and facilities, student computer laboratories and cable television services.
Michael Williamson, Director of ITS Communications Services, extension 3888.
Michael has administrative responsibility for the telephone, voice mail, cable television, video conferencing, telecommunications services and technology infrastructure for the main campus. He also has administrative responsibility for the provisioning of telephone, voice mail, desktop computing and printer infrastructure. Wide area network service and video conferencing for the nine remote SHS campuses are also part of his responsibility.
Mark Zaborowski, Director of Administrative Systems and Programming, extension 3361.
Mark manages the AS/400 programming staff for the Administrative Computing Group and is responsible for the administration of the AS/400 and software including Campus Web. Mark is also the primary contact for requesting programming services.
