The college awarded 1,100 bachelor's, masters and doctoral degrees and certificates of advanced graduate study to students from 31 states and four countries.
Speaking to undergraduates on Sunday, May 13, 2007, at the MassMutual Center, Stitzer said, “You can win against the big guys if you’re focused, faster, and smarter and your team feels they are recognized for it. As a leader, you must put the team before yourself.”
In ceremonies for graduate students on Saturday, May 12, 2007, on Naismith Green on the Springfield College campus, Jones said “Geographical, language, and trust barriers will disappear when we have caring people throughout the world. You must have an attitude that says, ‘I can and will forge change. I will become part of that mass of humanity who embrace all the people of the world.’”
The college awarded honorary doctor of humanics degrees to Stitzer; Jones; Brigadier General Paul E. Lefebvre, USMC; and Andrew Wing-Kee Luk, founder of printing and transportation businesses in Hong Kong.
