Sneha Shah ‘06, a movement and sports studies major from Nashua, N.H., has been named the recipient of two Association of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (AAHPERD) awards, William Considine, dean of the school of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation, announced recently.
Shah received the Bob Pate Student Scholarship from the Eastern District Association of AAHPERD at that body’s annual convention held earlier this month. It is the highest student award presented by the organization and is given annually to an undergraduate student who exemplifies professionalism, academic achievement, service, and character.
She has also been named recipient of the Outstanding Major of the Year Award by the National Association for Sports and Physical Education (NASPE), one of AAHPERD’s five national associations. This award recognizes outstanding students majoring in physical education, sport management, athletic training, and the sub-disciplines of kinesiology. Shah’s major concentration is in physical education. Her minor is in health studies.
