David Barclay’s exhibit features realistic
close-up paintings of musical instruments and European building facades. His works bring out the shape
curves
and details of his subjects
including creating a complex wood grain effect used in his instrument paintings. Barclay’s building facades are inspired by those he has seen during his travels in Europe
where he said he was “struck by the romantic quality of the architecture and the rich simplicity of its design."
