Football Lands 19 On FFC Academic All-Conference Team
, Nov. 20, 2002 – Springfield College led the Freedom Football Conference Academic All-Conference teams with 19 selections.
To be named to the team, a student athlete must have a 3.0 grade-point average and play a significant role on his team.
Included on the academic all-conference team are sophomore halfback Kevin Domurat (Forestdale, Mass.), sophomore linebacker Justin Fletcher (Orwell, Vt.), sophomore free safety Jeremiah Goodnow (Harwich, Mass.), senior lienman Andrew MacFadyen (Natick, Mass.) senior strong safety Joe Pedemonti (Manchester, Conn.) and junior PK Greg Switaj (Ridgewood, N.J.), who were all-FFC choices this season.
Also making the academic all-conference team is senior offensive tackle Ben Bristol (South Hadley, Mass.). For the second consecutive season, Bristol was named to the Verizon Academic All-District I Football team.
Other members of the Pride honored on the FFC Academic All-Conference Team were senior quarterback Craig Bowman (W. Hartford, Conn.), senior linebacker Dane Brown (Randolph, Mass.), sophomore defensive back Jason Chew (Longmeadow, Mass.), sophomore place kicker Nick Cicak (Dover, N.J.), senior lineman Chris D’Aniello (Housatonic, Mass.), junior halfback Nate Ingram (Brewster, Mass.), sophomore quarterback Michael Judge (Chatham, N.J.), sophomore linebacker Craig Koulopoulos (Bellingham, Mass.), senior split end Jim Kramer (Oneida, N.Y.), senior split end Cory Langone (Whitesboro, N.Y.), sophomore linebacker Curtis Schmidt (Whitesboro, N.Y.) and senior lineman Tim Small (Smithtown, N.Y.).
No. 19 Springfield College will travel to SUNY Brockport for a first-round game in the NCAA Division III Football Championship. The game is scheduled for Sat., Nov. 23 at 12 p.m. at Brockport’s Special Olympics Stadium.
