



SPRINGFIELD, Mass., October 12, 2006 – Amanda Tramont won her match at No. 1 singles and teamed with Sarah Gould at No. 1 doubles to lead the Trinity College women’s tennis team to a 9-0 non-conference victory over Springfield College this afternoon at SC’s Appleton Courts.
With the win, Trinity is now 3-0, while Springfield falls to 1-6.
Tramont, a sophomore from Miami, Florida, defeated Springfield senior Meghan Kelly (Queensbury, N.Y.), 6-2, 6-2 in singles play. Tramont then teamed with Gould, a sophomore from Longmeadow, Mass., to defeat SC’s No. 1 doubles team of Kelly and sophomore Melissa Weinstein (Allentown, Pa.).
SC came close in two singles matches. Weinstein at No. 3 singles and junior Jessica Sousa (Falmouth, Mass.) at No. 5 singles lost in third set super tiebreakers.

Toby Coffin G’01, enters his second year as the head men’s and women’s tennis coach at Springfield College. Coffin, who has coached at numerous high schools in the area, will look to build a program which will contend for a conference crown.
