



Coast Guard senior Bobby Brown (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) was named NEWMAC Swimmer of the year honors, while Springfield senior Ben Casavant (Acton, Mass.) earned NEWMAC Diver of the year accolades. Coach John Westkott, whose Coast Guard team won the NEWMAC championship, was named Swimming Coach of the Year. Peter Avdoulos of Springfield was named Diving Coach of the Year. Springfield also earned the NEWMAC Sportsmanship award.
Brown earned first team All-Conference in two events, 200 Free and 1650 Free, and second team honors in the 500 Free. He was also a part of Coast Guard's second place 800 Freestyle Relay team. His times in the finals of the 200 Free and 1650 Free, as well as his preliminary time in the 500 Free, all set Conference championship records.
Casavant claimed victories on both the one-meter and three-meter boards at the NEWMAC championship.

Peter Avdoulos is regarded as one of the top diving coaches in the nation, and will enter his 28th season as the diving coach for both the men's and women's programs in 2012-2013.
