



SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – October 28, 2007 – The Springfield College men's swimming and diving team dropped its first home meet of the season to Boston College on Sunday afternoon, 165-133, at the Art Linkletter Natatorium.
Matt Manoni (Brookfield, Conn.) touched first in the 200 yard freestyle in a time of 1:48.00, while teammate Andrew Blakesley (West Springfield, Mass.) finished in second with a time of 1:48.11. Blakesley also touched second in the 50 yard breaststroke in a time of 28.61 and won the 500 yard freestyle in 4:55.32. Greg Pearsall (Litchfield, Conn.) was victorious in the 50 yard freestyle in a time of 22.76, while Manoni picked up his second win of the afternoon with the top time in the 100 yard freestyle (48.07).
Ryan Mackstutis (Torrington, Conn.) grabbed the 100 yard breaststroke for the Pride with a time of 1:01.93.
Ben Casavant (Acton, Mass.) led the Pride to a sweep in the diving events as he placed first in the 3-meter (248.85) and second in the 1-meter (216.53). Matt Fitzgerald (Pelham, N.H.) captured the 1-meter (229.50) and finished second in the three-meter (234.08)
The Pride return to action on Nov. 10 when it travels to take on the University of Rhode Island.
