Springfield, which led 22-14 heading into the final two bouts of the match, just missed picking up its 900th victory as a program as the Terriers picked up the final two wins of the match.
Chris Brown opened up the match for the Pride by picking up a close 3-2 decision at heavyweight to get the ball rolling. Gary Henningsen followed Brown with a win by forfeit to increase the Pride's lead to 9-0. After a BU pin and major decision gave the Terriers a 10-9 lead, Chris DeBlock answered right back for the visitors with a pin at 6:07 to give Springfield a 15-10 lead.
The Pride's Chris Perry increased Springfield's lead after a 15-8 decision, only to have the Terriers crawl to within four after a major decision at 165.
Anthony Scarpetti increased the Pride's lead to 22-14 after a major decision, 11-2, at the 174-pound weight class. That would be the final victory of the night for the Pride as a major decision at 184 and a pin at the 3:46 mark at 197 gave the Terriers a 24-22 victory.
Springfield returns to action on Sunday afternoon when it hosts TCNJ in Springfield's Dana Gymnasium.
