Football's MacFadyen Named To All-America Teams
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Dec. 20, 2002 – Springfield College senior offensive lineman
Andrew MacFadyen (Natick, Mass.) was named to the Football Gazette Division III All-America Second Team and to the Hewlett Packard Division III All-America Third Team, announced today.
MacFadyen, a team co-captain and three-year starter at guard, caps an outstanding senior season in which he earned mention on numerous all-star teams. He was named to the Football Gazette All-East Region First Team and to the ECAC All-Star First Team as well as to the All-Freedom Football Conference (FFC) First Team and the academic all-conference team. He was a major reason why the Pride led Division III in rushing (356.7 yards-per-game) for the third time in the last four seasons.
The Pride (8-2 overall) won its fourth FFC championship in six seasons with a 6-0 conference record. SC lost to SUNY Brockport, 16-0, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. It was the Pride's third NCAA Tournament appearance since 1998.

Head Coach Mike DeLong
Michael C. “Mike” DeLong ’74 enters his 32nd season as a head football coach in the fall of 2013. He enters his 30th year at Springfield College alone. For the past 28 years, he has been the head coach at Springfield, his alma mater. Mike had also been the head coach at Maine Maritime in Castine, Maine in 1979 and 1980.
