



Steph Colella competed in all five events of the pentathlon and improved her previous best point total from 2364 points to 2782 points. With her performance, Colella qualified for Division III New Englands and ECAC Div. III Championships. The pentathlon includes the following events -- 55 meter hurdles, high jump, shot put, long jump, 800 meters.
In the mile run, Amanda DiPaolo finished fifth in a time of 5:18.73, and also finished 11th in the 1000 meter run in 3:08.23. Ashley Palmer registered a fifth-place finish in the high jump with a mark of 5-1.
Nikki Hay recorded a third place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 36-4.75 feet, while also finishing seventh in the long jump with a mark of 16-3.75.
In the 200 meter relay, the Pride's "A" relay squad finished in second with a time of 1:51.27.
Katie Ward qualified for Div. III New Englands and ECAC Div. III Championships in the 20-pound weight throw with a toss of 42-6.25, while teammate Kelsey Bishop finished third in the event with a toss of 47-6.5.

Jim Pennington enters his 29th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2012-2013. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
