SPRINGFIELD, Mass., May 8, 2007 - Effective Tuesday afternoon, May 8th, Springfield College has released its 2007 Pride football schedule. SC will open up with its first four games on the road.
The '07 campaign kicks off on Saturday evening, September 8th, in a 7:00 p.m. contest at Union. The Pride will then play at Monclair State on September 15th at 1:00 p.m., at Alfred on September 22nd (tba) in its Empire 8 Conference opener, and at Utica on September 29th in a 12:30 p.m. start.
SC doesn't begin the home portion of its schedule until Saturday, October 6th, when it hosts Husson at 1:00 p.m. Two of the key home games of the season are when St. John Fisher and Ithaca College come to Benedum Field in back-to-back weeks, on October 20th and 27th. Last season, the Pride and St. John Fisher were both 5-1 in conference play, as Ithaca College finished in a tie for third with Alfred at 4-2.

Michael C. “Mike” DeLong ’74 enters his 31st season as a head football coach in the fall of 2012. He enters his 29th year at Springfield College alone. For the past 28 years, he has been the head coach at Springfield, his alma mater. Mike had also been the head coach at Maine Maritime in Castine, Maine in 1979 and 1980. Read more.
