Football's Chris Sharpe Appeared LIVE on ESPNews Thursday, October 26

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., October 25, 2006 - Springfield College junior quarterback Chris Sharpe (Derry, N.H.) was an in-studio guest on ESPNews on Thursday afternoon, October 26th, at 1:35 p.m. He was on a show called the College Football Hotlist, and was interviewed by anchor Dari Nowkhah and Heisman Trophy winner Desmond Howard.

It is believed that Sharpe was the first Springfield College undergraduate student-athlete ever to be interviewed LIVE on national television. On Wednesday, Sharpe received his third Gold Helmet Award (as presented by the Boston Globe) at the New England Football Writers Association luncheon at Harvard University's Dillon Field House. Sharpe ran for 280 yards and scored an incredible seven touchdowns (one shy of the NCAA Division III record) in a huge 55-38 victory at St. John Fisher last Saturday (Oct. 21).

The Springfield College Pride (7-0) will next play at Ithaca College (6-1) on Saturday afternoon, October 28th at 1:00 p.m. in yet another crucial Empire 8 Conference contest.
