Dupuis Tabbed FFC's Top Special Teams Player
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Sept. 30, 2002 --Springfield College freshman kickoff returner
Mitch Dupuis was named Freedom Football Conference (FFC) Special Teams Player of the Week (Sept. 29).
Dupuis, a native of
Merrimack, N.H., returned two kickoffs for a total of 106 yards (53.0 average) to set the tone in Springfield College’s 64-14 win over Coast Guard (Sept. 28).
Dupuis is the fourth SC player to win a conference weekly award this season. Sophomore halfback
Will Davis and sophomore quarterback
Michael Judge were selected as the FFC Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 8 and 24, respectively. Junior place kicker
Greg Switaj was the conference’s special teams player of the week on Sept. 8.
Senior cornerback
Mike Capotosto was named to the FFC Weekly Honor Roll. Capotosto picked off two passes and returned one for a 35-yard touchdown in SC’s victory Saturday.
The Pride (3-0) travels to No. 11 Ithaca College on Sat., Oct. 5 for a 1 p.m. game.

Michael C. “Mike” DeLong ’74 enters his 31st season as a head football coach in the fall of 2012. He enters his 29th year at Springfield College alone. For the past 28 years, he has been the head coach at Springfield, his alma mater. Mike had also been the head coach at Maine Maritime in Castine, Maine in 1979 and 1980.
