CORTLAND, N.Y., January 9, 2007 - Springfield College senior quad-captain Mark DeCiccio (Cranston, R.I.), ranked seventh in all of Division III at 157 pounds, moved up a weight class (165 pounds) to help a depleted Pride squad and went 2-0 on the afternoon, but it wasn't enough as 13th-ranked SC fell at No. 7 SUNY Cortland, 24-19.
In the Pride's other dual on the afternoon, SC fell to the 22nd-ranked Ithaca College Bombers by a final tally of 32-10. With the two losses, the Pride's 2006-2007 dual-meet record drops to 4-2.

Junior Elliot Smith (Richville, N.Y.), ranked eighth in Division III at 184 pounds, defeated the defending Division III national champion with a 5-4 decision over Cortland State's Stef Sair.
