



NEW LONDON, Conn. - November 10, 2007 - The Springfield College women's cross country team recorded a 17th-place finish at the NCAA Division III New England Regionals on Saturday morning.
In a race that had 344 runners and 47 regional teams competing in it, the Pride had three competitors place in the top sixty runners in the race. Leading the way for Springfield was Amanda DiPaolo's (Garrison, N.Y.) 48th place finish in a time of 23:01.3. She was closely followed by Alyssa Brigham (Penacook, N.H.), who crossed the finish line in 56th place (23:08.3). Lacey Cartier (York, Maine) then finished in a time of 23:09.4, which was good enough for 59th place.
Rounding out the finishes for the Pride were Jess Borsotti (Northampton, Mass.) in a time of 25:10.8 and Amanda Mullen (Claremont, N.H.) in 25:36.9.
Jim Pennington enters his 28th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2011-2012. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
