Tessa Smolinski of the Springfield College women's volleyball team has been named this week's Female Maroon Athlete of the Week. The sophomore from Hebron, Conn. helped Springfield advance to the NCAA Tournament following a pair of victories at this past weekend's NEWMAC post-season tournament at SC's Blake Arena. In a 3-0 semifinal win over MIT, Smolinski recorded 14 kills and 10 digs. Then one day later, in a tight 3-2 victory over Wellesley, Tessa was credited with 13 kills and 19 digs. Springfeld is now 31-2 on the season and will host the NCAA New England Regionals for the second straight year this Friday-Saturday-Sunday (Nov. 11-12-13),
