Chris Walton
Chris Walton has been selected as the Springfield College Male Maroon Club Athlete of the Week after having a solid performance this week for the men's soccer squad as the Pride went 1-0-1 in a pair of contests.

Walton, a native of Cromwell, Conn., powered the Pride to a 1-0 win against NEWMAC rival WPI on Saturday. Walton finished the game with seven saves while recording his third shutout of the season. The win took the team to 3-4-1 on the season and 1-1 in conference play.

Earlier in the week, Walton made several key saves in the Pride’s 1-1 double overtime tie against Tufts. He finished the contest with six saves against the Jumbos.

Walton has been superb early in his career for the Pride. The freshman keeper has started all 8 games for the Pride so far this season, making 52 saves while holding opponents to a .730 goals per game average.
