



Box ScoreBridgewater, Mass. -– November 18, 2011 -- Junior guard Carly Napier (Pittsford, N.Y.) tallied a game-high 17 points to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 61-45 victory over Springfield College in the semifinals of the P&H Travel Women’s Basketball Tip-Off Tournament hosted by Bridgewater State University on Friday.
Trinity (1-0) will take on host Bridgewater State in the tournament championship game on Saturday at 3:00 PM. Bridgewater downed Thomas College, 105-60 in the other semifinal matchup. Springfield (1-1) and Thomas will meet in the consolation game at 1:00 PM.
Trinity limited Springfield to 26.4% (14-53) shooting for the game while the Bantams connected on 43.3% (26-60) of their field goal attempts. The Pride finished just 1-for-18 from the three-point line, but did knock down 16-of-20 (80%) of its free throws. Trinity went to the line just six times.
Freshman forward Jaimie Bickelhaupt (Brookfield, Conn.) paced the Pride with 13 points and six boards. She was also f-for-8 from the floor. Springfield assisted on all 14 of its field goals with senior guard Andrea Butler (Cohoes, N.Y.) and Kelly Murphy (Mechanicville, N.Y.) and freshman forward Hannah Ebling (Saco, Maine) notching three apiece.
Carly Napier (Pittsford, N.Y.) led the Bantams with 17 points, while senior guards Kaitlin Ciarleglio (Waterbury, Conn.) and Michelle Royals (Torrington, Conn.) and sophomore center Emily Dixon (Norwood, Mass.) added nine points apiece for the Bantams. Royals pulled down five boards while Ciarleglio led all players with six assists.
The score was 28-17, Trinity, at the half.
Entering her 23rd season as head coach in 2013-14, Naomi Graves has directed her squads to an impressive 323-260 record (.554 winning percentage) since joining the Division III ranks in 1995. Graves has led the Pride to 12 post-season bids in the past 17 years, including five berths in the NCAA Division III Tournament.
