Beebe Named to Boston Cannons 25-Man Active Roster

Jake Beebe Springfield, Mass. - April 23, 2013 - Former Springfield College men's lacrosse All-American Jake Beebe was named to Major League Lacrosse's (MLL) Boston Cannons 25-man active roster, according to Cannons general manager Kevin Barney.

The Cannons open play in the premier professional outdoor lacrosse league this Sunday, April 28 at 3:30pm on the road against the New York Lizards at Hofstra University's Shuart Stadium.

Beebe starred for the Pride for 2006-2009, capped off his career by earning USILA Honorable Mention All-America status and was selected to play in the annual USILA North/South Senior All-Star Game. An ECAC All-Star First Team selection and the Pilgrim Lacrosse Player of the Year, Beebe turned in one of the most impressive offensive careers in program history.

He ended his career ranked in the top seven in the three major offensive categories as he tallied 127 goals (7th most), 126 assists (4th most), and 253 points (4th most) throughout his four years. His senior season was also one of the best single seasons in program history. His 46 assists were the second most for a player in a year, while his 87 points was the fourth-highest total for a player in one season.

The highlight of his senior campaign came in the NCAA Tournament First Round as Beebe broke an 18-year old NCAA Tournament record for points in a game. In the 21-4 win over Mount Ida, Beebe poured in seven goals and five assists for a record-breaking total of 12 points.

Beebe was the third player from the Springfield men's lacrosse program to make it to the MLL. Adam Cost was chosen by the Chicago Machine in the 2006 MLL Supplemental Draft, while Jeremy Platt, although undrafted, was on the Boston Cannons roster as a goalkeeper.
