



SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- October 5, 2008 – Greg Levings fired a pair of 75’s to finish tied for 11th in leading Springfield College to a 7th place finish among 18 teams at the ECAC Division III Championships at the par-70 Tunxis Plantation Golf Club in Farmington, Conn. this past Saturday and Sunday. As a team, Trinity finished first with a score of 582. Following in order were: Nichols (592), Johnson & Wales (607), Endicott (608), WNEC (612), Brandeis (617), Babson (618), Springfield (628), Castleton State (629), Worcester State (634), UMass-Dartmouth (635), Westfield State (640), Becker (654), Suffolk (660), Wentworth (664), MIT (674), and Elms (715).
Levings, a senior from Averill Park, N.Y., finished tied for 11th with his two-round score of 150, which was 10 strokes behind medalist Jay Driscoll of Trinity (72-68=140).
From the Pride’s standpoint, remaining golfers included sophomore Craig DiFranco (East Longmeadow, Mass.), who shot a 79-76=155, tying for 24th. Up next was senior Mike LaJoie (Enfield, Conn.), who fired an 81-77=158, tying for 37th. Junior J.R. Balogun (Springfield, Mass.) tied for 58th with his 82-83=165. Senior Bryan Andersen (Enfield, Conn.) finished 77th with his 92-86=178.
Up next, Springfield College will play in the New England Collegiate Conference Championships at the Chicopee Country Club in Chicopee, Mass. on October 11-12.
Joe Eadie enters his 20th season as the head men's golf coach at Springfield College in the fall of 2012. Eadie is the head golf professional at the Fenway Golf Range in nearby East Longmeadow, and is in the process of becoming a PGA Professional.
