West Chester, Pa. - February 27, 2010 - The Springfield College women's gymnastics team finished third at a tri-meet on Saturday in a meet that also featured Temple and host West Chester. Temple won with an overall score of 188.150, followed by West Chester's score of 181.275, while the Pride rounded out the scoring with a 179.925.
Leading the way for the Pride was Christina Pagella who had two top three finishes on the day. Pagella finished third on the vault with a score of 9.400, and also finished third in the floor exercise with a 9.675.
Brittany Baglow had a tremendous day as she finished third all-around. Baglow scored 9.150 on the vault, 8.125 on the bars, 9.075 on the beam, and 9.150 en route to a total all-around score of 35.500.
Other top finishers for the day included Ericca Castagna, who tied for fourth on the floor exercise with a mark of 9.650. Jeanna Bradle had Springfield's top score on the uneven parallel bars as she posted a 9.000, good enough for sixth place. Kayleigh Davis also picked up a sixth-place finish on the day as she scored a 9.150 on the balance beam.
The Pride will return to action next Sunday, March 7 when it plays host to Yale and Rhode Island College in a tri-meet.
