Complete ResultsKnoxville, Tenn. - March 26, 2011 - A pair of school records fell on the final day of the NCAA Division III Women's Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday afternoon. Kellie Pennington re-established her school mark in the 100 free, while the 400 free relay also set a new school mark.
Pennington, who was the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Swimmer and Rookie of the Year, earned her first ever All-America honor in the 100 free on Saturday. Entering the event seeded fifth with a qualifying time of 50.89, the freshman qualified for the finals with a new school record time of 50.82 in the prelims. In the finals, Pennington finished sixth in the nation as she clocked in at 50.94.
The 400 yard freestyle relay, comprised Kaitlin Reilly, Aimee Doe, Caroline Kosciusko and Pennington took home All-America honors as they swam to an eighth place finish in 3:29.12. In the prelims, the squad touched in a school record time of 3:28.63, which was bolstered by Pennington's final split of 49.91. They entered the competition seeded 13th place with a qualifying time of 3:29.68.
Springfield finished 12th of 54 scoring teams with 87 points.
