Gabriella Gaudreault (Leominster, Mass.) won the 800m with a time of 2:17.23, an event that the Pride swept the top three spots. Sam Pomroy (Lebanon, Maine) finished second in 2:24.40 and Abigail Wright (Pittsfield, Mass.) was third in 2:25.66.
First-year Lauren Dumaine (California, Ky.) was Springfield's other winner, finishing first in the shot put with a toss of 33-06.50. Dumaine also took second in the discus (99-10).
Wright finished second overall in the 1500m with a time of 4:59.34 to go along with her third place finish in the 800m.
The Pride had a pair of second place relay teams. The 4x100 relay team of Erin Womboldt (Falmouth, Mass.), Katherine Saia (Wallingford, Conn.), Darian Dailey (East Providence, R.I.) and Elizabeth Saia (Wallingford, Conn.) took second with a combined time of 50.96, just 0.31 seconds behind the winning team from Middlebury. The 4x400 relay team of Gaudreault, Pomroy, Abby Clark (Holderness, N.H.) and Colleen Rice (Queensbury, N.Y.) finished in 4:29.09.
Individually, Womboldt also finished second in the long jump with a leap of 16-08 and Elizabeth Saia finished second in the 100m (13.06). In the 400m, Hannah Woods (Middletown, Conn.) placed second with a time of 1:08.08. Next Saturday, Springfield will head to Coast Guard for a tri-meet with WPI.
