



Columbus, Ohio - March 11, 2011 - In her first trip to the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships, Kelly Curtis finished 13th in the pentathlon.After the first three events, Curtis was in second place out of 14 competitors, however finished in 13th after all five events with a total score of 2,826 points.
Curtis finished fifth in the 55 meter hurdles in 8.75 seconds before placing sixth in the high jump with a leap of 5-1 (1.55m). In the next event, Curtis had her highest finish of the day, taking third in the shot put with a heave of 33-11 1/2 (10.35m). However, Curtis struggled in her final two events, placing 14th in the long jump with a distance of 14-6 1/2 (4.43m) and running the 800 meter in 3:00.70.

Jim Pennington enters his 29th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2012-2013. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
