Escalante '09 Carries Lessons to NFL Career

Alonso Escalante Springfield, Mass. - November 27, 2012 - Former Springfield College football student assistant Alonso Escalante has continued to grow as a football coach since graduating in 2009. Escalante has taken lessons learned at Springfield College and turned them into a career in the NFL.

The Glen Rock, N.J. native worked with the Springfield College football program all four years as an undergrad after an injury cut his playing career short. His hard work and dedication to develop as a coach, along with relationships built with former Rutgers head coach Greg Schiano, has helped land Escalante with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

His journey through the coaching ranks was recently chronicled on NorthJersey.com and can be read in its entirety here .
