



2010 AVCA Division III Men’s Top 15 Preseason Coaches Poll Lexington, Ky. - January 12, 2010 - The Springfield College men's volleyball team kicks off its 2010 campaign on Friday evening and will do so as the second-ranked team in the country according to the 2010 AVCA Division III Men’s Preseason Top 15 Coaches Poll, which was released on Tuesday afternoon.
Springfield, which has won five Molten Division III National Championships, received 215 votes in the preseason poll after ending the 2009 season as the third-ranked team in Division III. The Pride will open up the season on Friday evening when it travels to the west coast to take on third-ranked UC Santa Cruz at 7:00 pm. SC will then battle against the top-ranked NAIA school in the country on Saturday as it squares off against Cal Baptist.
Defending national champion Juniata College enters the season as the top-ranked team in the country as it received all 16 first-place votes.
The Pride returns a pair of All-Americans in senior setter Eric Shoemaker and junior middle blocker Cal Palumbo.

With seven national championships to his credit, Charlie Sullivan will enter his 15th season as head coach of the men's volleyball team in 2013. In 14 previous years at the helm, Sullivan owns an overall record of 224-155 for a .591 winning percentage. Read more.
