Orlando, Fla. - March 12, 2012 - The Springfield College men's tennis team opened up its Spring Break trip with a pair of losses to Roger William and St. Ambrose on Monday. Roger Williams prevailed by a score of 6-3, while St. Ambrose was victorious, 7-2.
With the two losses, Springfield is now 3-4 this year.
In the loss to Roger Williams, Kyle Mersereau grinded out a 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles, while Ben Burnap won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 2 singles.
Burnap factored into both of the Pride's win against St. Ambrose. He teamed with Mersereau at No. 2 doubles for a 8-5 win before taking No. 2 singles by the scores of 3-6, 6-2, (10-8).

Toby Coffin G’01, enters his second year as the head men’s and women’s tennis coach at Springfield College. Coffin, who has coached at numerous high schools in the area, will look to build a program which will contend for a conference crown.
