Griffin Headed Back To NCAA Championships After 10th Place Finish at NCAA Regionals
Williamstown, Mass. – November 15, 2008
– Senior Michael Griffin
qualified for the NCAA Division III National Championships with his 10th place finish at the 2008 NCAA New England Regional Championships held at Mt. Greylock Regional High School.
The Scarborough, Maine product finished in a time of 26:31, qualifying for Nationals for the second consecutive year.
Williams took first place with 36 points, followed by Amherst with 122, while Trinity rounded out the top three with 143 points. Williams junior Edgar Kosgey won the individual crown with a time of 25:52. The Pride finished in 14th place overall with 370 points.
Also finishing in the top 100 for the Pride were sophomore Brian Fuller (Ludlow, Mass.) in 42nd in 27:18 and freshman David Birdsall (Madison, Conn.) in 67th in a time of 27:46.
Head Coach Bryan Brown
Bryan Brown will enter his third season as the head men's cross country coach in the fall of 2013. Brown, who was a former All-American at Springfield College in track, is the reigning NEWMAC Coach of the Year after leading Springfield to its second-straight second-place finish at the conference championships a year ago .
