



Complete ResultsAmherst, Mass. - May 9, 2009 - The Springfield College women's track and field team competed in the 2009 All-New England Championships held at UMass-Amherst on Saturday. Despite not scoring any points, the Pride had several outstanding performances.
The 4x400 relay of Katie Schumann, Joy Jennifer, Nicole Reynolds, and Kelly Murphy ran a season-best time at they finished 10th in 4:01.59. Also having success on the track for the afternoon included the 4x800 relay of Lacey Cartier, Jackie Pires, Amanda DiPaolo, and Michelle Mirti which ran a season-best time of 9:48.01, good enough for 14th place. Individually, Reynolds ran a 26.58 in the 200, while Cartier clocked in at 2:17.52 in the 800.
In the shot put, freshman Fatima Rose had a standout meet as she recorded a toss of 12.43m, or 40-09.50, to finish in ninth place. Also finishing ninth on the afternoon was Kelsey Bishop in the hammer throw, after tallying a distance of 48.93m, or 160-0. Freshman Cherelle Allen finished in 13th with a distance of 5.30m, or 17'4.75", in the long jump.
Kayla Robertson took 11th in the high jump with a jump of 5'0.50".
Jim Pennington enters his 29th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2012-2013. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
