



Complete ResultsSpringfield, Mass. - April 11, 2011 - The Springfield College women's tennis team suffered a tough 5-4 setback to visiting Holy Cross in non-conference play on Appleton Courts.
This marks the first win of the season for Holy Cross as they move to 1-11, while Springfield drops to 5-9.
Springfield's Amy Shaw had an impressive day as she pulled out 0-6, 7-5, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles, and joined teammate Vanessa Senecal for a 8-3 win at No. 1 doubles.
Holy Cross won the other two doubles matches, which proved to be the deciding points as the squad's each won three singles matches. Other than Shaw's win at No. 1, Siana Green won 7-5, 0-6, 7-5 at No. 4 and Kristi Maltz picked up a 6-3, 7-5 win at No. 5.
The Pride are next in action on Sunday morning when it travels to RPI for a match beginning at 10:30 am.

Toby Coffin G’01, enters his third year as the head men’s and women’s tennis coach at Springfield College. Coffin, who has coached at numerous high schools in the area, will look to build a program which will contend for a conference crown.
