



Complete ResultsCambridge, Mass. - December 8, 2012 - The Springfield College women's track and field team had a great showing in the Harvard Open on Saturday afternoon in a non-scoring meet.
Gabby Gaudreault was tremendous on the afternoon, winning the 800 meters in 2:15.31. In the 600 meter dash, Jenn Kapinos finished fourth in 1:42.46, while teammate Samantha Pomroy took ninth in the same event after crossing in 1:44.35.
Bethany Young was 12th in the 500 meters with a 1:25.49 and would later finish 16th in the 55 meter hurdles in 9.51 seconds.
Also having a standout performance was Laurie Jenkins, who produced a fifth-place finish in the 400 meters with a time of 59.24.
The 4x400 relay team combined to run a 4:02.61 en route to a third-place finish and Amanda Martin had a strong showing in the long jump, registering a leap of 17-03.50 to take seventh.
Jim Pennington enters his 29th season as head coach of the Springfield College women’s cross country and track and field teams in 2012-2013. Under Pennington’s direction, the Pride has recorded seven top 20 finishes at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships, and seven top 15 finishes at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
