



Springfield, Mass. - November 25, 2008 - Senior forward Jane Kelleher wrapped up her illustrious career at Springfield as she was recently selected as an All-American by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) and womensfieldhockey.com.Kelleher was selected to the All-America Second Team by both organizations.
The Chatham, Mass. native was also selected as the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Player of the Year for the second consecutive year this season. Kelleher helped lead the Pride to the 2008 NEWMAC Championship, the program’s fifth in as many years as she tallied a team-best 17 goals and led Springfield with 36 points. She has netted six game-winning goals this season.
For her career, Kelleher will leave as one of the program's most decorated players and most potent offensive weapons, as she posted 145 points and 63 goals in her stay at Springfield.
After nine years as head coach of the Pride, Melissa Sharpe has continued the tradition of winning on the field hockey turf, posting an impressive 130-68 record, good for a winning percentage of .656 at the helm of her alma mater. Read more.
