On the women’s side, a total of 160 teams were recognized and Springfield women's team earned a grade point average of 3.42 to finish in the top 55. All told, the NEWMAC had seven women’s program take home the academic honor as MIT (3.48), Smith (3.44), WPI (3.43), Wellesley (3.40), Babson (3.32), Wheaton (3.16) were all recognized.
Individually, a total of six student-athletes were named to the USTFCCCA 2013 Division III All-Academic Track & Field team. Colleen Brague, Laurie Jenkins, Amanda Martin, Jessica Miller, and Elizabeth Saia earned honors on the women’s side, while John Dayton was selected for the men’s team.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 and have met either competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship or finished the regular season ranked in the national top 35 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 25 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org.
